All-Absorb Training Pads
One of the reasons for the success is the sheer amount of layers each puppy pad contains.
As you can see from the breakdown, this is a quality product. While the pads are not the thickest on the market, the 5 layers each serving an individual purpose make these wee-wee pads highly effective.
At 22 inches x 23 inches, the size is adequate enough to housetrain a puppy, or to assist with an ageing dog of larger proportions.
What’s more, if you are looking for the best dog training pads in bulk, the fact that the package contains 100 individual pads, make this one a great purchase.
Difficult to fault.
Very affordable, buy in bulk 100 and super-absorbent, the All-Absorb are clearly one of the best dog training pads you can buy. Highly recommended.
Four Paws Wee Wee Pads for Puppies to Adult Dogs
Why are these the best dog training pads?
The Four Paws Wee Wee pads are a relatively well known brand of training pads.
Here a 5-ply ‘leak proof’ Floor Armor system is used, (basically Four Paws way of saying these are damn strong).
In fact so confident are they that theirs is the best dog training pad around, the product comes with a 100% leak proof guarantee.
So if some excess pee-pee leaks onto your carpet, get the camera out and claim….
Sorry, back to the review. Again a built in attractant is used luring your dog to the pad.
They also come in various sizes, meaning all dog sizes are catered for. (Standard, Odor Control, Super Absorbent, Gigantic, X-Large, Little Dogs, and Décor)
What more could you ask for?
The Four Paws are marginally more expensive than others we have reviewed here, however the quality and that confidence boosting 100% leak proof guarantee is hard to ignore.
The fact you can buy a bulk pack (as featured here) of 150 pads is very convenient. Add that to the wide range of sizes available, and you have a puppy or dog training pad to suit all your needs.
And if you have a large breed dog with incontinence issues, look no further than the ‘Gigantic’ range. You will not be disappointed.
Hartz Home Protection Pads for Dogs
Why are these the best puppy pads?
Unlike the other pads reviewed, the Hartz brand go for a 7 layer protection.
And although the product is designed for normal puppy training use, Hartz also pitch the idea that the pads are also ideal for extended indoor stays, or travelling.
In fact, they state that these dog training pads can hold in the urine for up to 12 hours.
A plastic backing to the pad protects your floors, and the extra layers help strengthen the pad so that they do not rip should your dog be restless of in a confined area with the pad, (i.e the back of a car).
However, as you will see from the various customer comments, it does seem as if these pads are a bit on the small size. At 21 inches x 21 inches, the Hartz are the smallest puppy pads in our top 5. However, they do have larger sizes meant for adult dogs that could be used for medium-sized breed puppies.
The also come in 14, 30, 50 and 100 pads per pack.
Durability really is the selling point of the Hartz Home Protection, making it a worthwhile purchase should you not be able to remove and replace each pad as regularly as you’d like to.
Great for smaller dogs and puppies, however, if you have a adult large breed dog you should look elsewhere.
IRIS Neat ‘n Dry Floor Protection for Puppies and Dogs
Why are these the best puppy pee pads?
The IRIS enter our top 5 list for two reasons;
- They consistently get great customer reviews
- Two, we like them as they are the best value product out of the 5 reviewed, at only $19 for 100 pads.
So they have sold lots and they are bargain priced. Are they any good though?
The IRIS Neat ‘n Dry are a medium sized training pad, suitable for puppies and medium sized dogs. (Larger sizes are available however.)
They opt for the 5-layer system, with an internal gel that absorbs all that your dog can pee on it. Rather than describe how each layer works, we’ll display an image instead.
Suitably ergonomic you will agree.
For best results, the manufacturers do recommend their own IRIS pad holder. This keeps the pad in place and prevents any potential leaks.
That’s the nuts and bolts out of the way, what exactly do people think of these in practice.
The IRIS Neat ‘n Dry and are popular choice dog training pad.
However, they may be the cheapest of the top 5, and sometimes you do get what you pay for. Not the best of the bunch in our mind.
Why are these the best dog training pads?
The 5th bestselling pee pads on Amazon come from Simple Solution. Again they have a range of sizes available, however it is their Extra Large addition that are making the most sales.
Advertised as 63% larger than traditional pads, this should probably be taken with a pinch of salt however.
The fact is, these ones measure up at 28 inches x 30 inches. While not quite the 63% that they like to claim, the pads are still mighty large.
The standard build applies, with the middle layer made of super absorbent polymer that converts the pee-pee into a non-offensive (and odourless) gel.
Each pad is made with a strong backing to protect your floor, and the extra large dimensions are said to help attract your dog to use the pad. It also gives them a bit of space to circle around before letting loose.
Since this product hit the market it has consistently kept owners (and dogs) pleased with the results.
Clearly designed for larger dogs, or maybe even a litter of puppies; should you need ample space for your dogs to do their pee pee, this could well be the training pad for you.
